We'll be having our next tapping, the Half Day Hefeweizen (named for an anonymous truck driver whose a mug clubber who never seems to work a full day in his life) on Monday, July 18th at 7pm for mug clubbers in the back room, and at 8pm behind the bar.
Also just out is the Playground Savior, which is our new sour that's a blend of a sour from long ago, mixed with the .357 Imperial Pils, plus a small addition of Apple Juice. It tastes great, and there's only 1/4bbl of it, so come out and taste it while you can!
Cheers!

Tapping announcements
Hi all Mug Clubbers
It's come to my attention that our tappings have been rather poorly announced, which I apologize for. I'm not sure how Bryan announced them, or what works best for you guys, but for the next ones to come, I'll be sure to tweet, blog, email and be sure to pass the word around so that you guys don't miss them, as I always enjoy sharing beer with you all!
Cheers!

The Little White Dog
We'll be tapping our Le Chien Blanc (that's french for the little white dog) on Monday, June 20th at 7pm in the back room....you guys know the deal...
It's a delightful Belgian Wit, ripe for these hot summer days. We fermented it with a French Saison yeast, which gives it a nice estery phenolic nose and flavor, as well as a little french kick
Hope to see you all there!
Cheers!

Next Tapping -- Stammtisch Alt
Mug Clubbers,
Just wanted to give the heads up that we are having a tapping this month on Tuesday, April 19th for our Stammtisch Alt, a German-style Altbier. We'll give more details about this beer as it finishes out and we get more info ourselves. The tapping will be in the banquet room and will be at 7pm. Thanks!

Saison and Garfunkle to be tapped...
We are having a tapping on March 22nd, at 7pm for our Saison & Garfunkle Belgian saison. This saison was a small collaboration with the folks at The Bristol, an eatery in the Wicker Park area in Chicago, so we wanted this beer to be easily paired with food.
Our partners were interested in a saison with citrus flavors, so we took notes and went to work on a test batch. The first test batch we used rosemary, fresh clementine peels, and black peppercorn. Pleased with this first attempt, we moved to the large system. The amounts of spices translated to 3#s of peppercorns, 1.5#s of fresh rosemary, and the peels from 20#s of clementines on the 15bbl system! Did I fail to mention that this beer did all of its fermentation above 80F, peaking at around 88F? What we have as a result is a very aromatic, freshly citrus beer with all the great characteristics of a Belgian farmhouse ale. In addition, the black peppercorns (along with the yeast finishing dry) are just right to curb any sweetness that might arise. The ABV on this brew is a hefty 8.3% so don't let the delicacy fool you.
See you March 22nd.
